Hello chicken keepers!

When it comes to poultry lice, poultry mites and poultry pests in general prevention really is way easier than a cure. One of the things I swear by as chook mum is using natural materials to repel and prevent those pesky pests that want to take a free ride under my girls’ wings! My Mother Hen Tips this week are easy and natural ways you can keep your girls as pest free as possible!

Diatomaceous earth is a fossilised algae that can eradicate existing lice and mites and prevent others from taking hold. Hemp bedding is naturally pest repellent and super absorbent - keeping my girls dry and comfy. No garlic skins, lavender or eucalyptus leaves on hand? Not a worry, try a combo of these herbs for hen health.
